I haven't heard of the Zip Trainer. How long has it been available?

The Zip Trainer was developed approximately thirty years ago. Until 1990 it was sold regionally. In 1990 the Zip Trainer was acquired by Team Sports and sold by direct mail across the country and in a limited number of sporting goods stores in Texas. The Zip Trainer is now available from Kanes Forms Ventures.

Who has purchased and used the Zip Trainer?

Since becoming available through this web site in March 1999, players and coaches from the follwing locations have purchased the Zip Baseball Trainer and the Zip Curveball Trainer:

Can the Zip Trainer be used by players of all ages?

Yes. However, experience indicates the earliest age that really benefits from using the Zip Baseball Trainer is 10 to 12. This is due to the players hand size, muscle strength, and coordination. Improved results from using the Zip Trainer are not automatic. As with any training aid, improvement results from continued use.

For the Zip Curveball Trainer, the recommended age for use is over 13. This is due, in large part, to the concern that throwing a curve ball at a younger age, or throwing it improperly, can cause "arm" problems. The Curveball Trainer is available only in one size - Large.
Is the size of the Baseball Trainer I order important?

Yes. The size you order is very important. If you order a size too large, the elastic will not provide the maximum �popping� motion. It is better to order a smaller size than a larger size.
How do I know what size to order?

The Price and Order page displays a chart showing how to measure a players hand to determine the size of Zip Trainer to order. If the measurement falls between two sizes, it is suggested the smaller size be ordered.
How will the Zip Trainers be shipped to me?

All orders are shipped by First Class Mail, mailed within 72 hours of the date an order is received and processed. The shipping is included in the price.

Any orders to be shipped outside the Continental United States will be shipped in the manner requested by the purchaser, with shipping cost greater than the cost US First Class Mail to be charged to the customer.
How much does it cost? Is there a minimum order?

There is NO minimum order. Zip Trainers are priced at $12.00 if ONLY 1 Trainer is ordered, and $10.00 each, including the first one, if TWO OR MORE Trainers are ordered. Orders of TWO OR MORE Trainers may include any combination of sizes of Baseball Trainers and/or Curveball Trainers.

This price includes shipping and handling to addresses in the Continental United States.
How do I pay for an order for Zip Trainers?

Credit card orders on Visa, MasterCard and American Express are accepted. Cashier's Checks or Money Orders (in US funds) are accepted. No personal checks or COD orders will be accepted. All credit card orders will be charged to Kanes Forms Ventures.

Schools and Universities desiring to place an order by Purchase Order and/or make payment by check (only US Funds accepted) must call for approval before an order will be accepted.
Is the Zip Trainer shipped with instructions?

Yes. Each Zip Trainer is shipped in its original packaging (from Teams Sports) which includes instructions. The instruction sheet also contains an order form which should be disregarded.
Can the Zip Baseball Trainer be used by softball players?

Originally designed for baseball players, we have received several orders from girls softball coaches who have advised us it is being used for training fast pitch softball pitchers. If we are able to obtain any information from them, as to the use of the Zip Trainer by softball players, it will be posted on this website.
